Landing Page Tracking Overview
The Landing Page Changes feature monitors competitor landing pages for content and messaging updates. When a competitor changes their headline, value proposition, feature list, pricing, or call-to-action, Surva.ai detects it, classifies the severity, and shows you exactly what changed with before-and-after comparisons. This feature requires a Growth or Business plan.
Summary Stats
Six cards across the top show:
- Total Changes - all detected changes across every tracked competitor
- This Week - changes detected in the last 7 days
- This Month - changes detected in the last 30 days
- Major - count of major changes (red accent), indicating significant strategic shifts
- Moderate - count of moderate changes (yellow accent), indicating notable updates worth knowing
- Minor - count of minor changes (gray accent), indicating small text tweaks
Filtering Changes
Three dropdown filters narrow the change list:
- Competitor - filter by domain, each option shows the total change count
- Severity - filter by Major, Moderate, or Minor
- Change Type - filter by field: Headline, Pricing, Features, Benefits, CTA, Messaging, Layout, or Other
Click the Filter button to apply. Up to 100 changes are displayed at a time. If more exist, an info bar shows "Showing X pages with Y changes (of Z total)."
What Gets Tracked
Surva.ai crawls competitor landing pages daily at 5:00 AM Eastern and takes a snapshot of six key fields:
| Field | What It Captures |
|---|---|
| H1 Headline | The primary headline on the page |
| Meta Description | The page's meta description tag |
| Features | Extracted feature list items (stored as JSON) |
| Benefits | Extracted benefit statements (stored as JSON) |
| Pricing | Any pricing information detected on the page |
| CTA Text | Primary call-to-action button or link text |
Each snapshot also stores a content hash for quick change detection between crawls. When the hash differs from the previous snapshot, Surva.ai performs a detailed field-by-field comparison and creates change records for each field that differs.
How Changes Are Displayed
Changes are grouped by landing page. Each group card shows the competitor favicon and name, the page URL and title, a severity badge, the number of changes detected, and type badges for each changed field. If a group has a single change, an inline before/after preview appears directly on the card. Groups with multiple changes have an expand button to reveal all individual changes.
Severity Levels
Every change is classified by severity:
- Major (red badge with red left border) - significant strategic changes such as a completely rewritten headline or major pricing restructuring
- Moderate (yellow badge with yellow left border) - notable changes like new features added, benefit statements revised, or CTA text updated
- Minor (gray badge with gray left border) - small text tweaks such as punctuation fixes, minor wording adjustments, or meta description edits
Change Detail Panel
Click View Detail on any change to open a slide-in panel from the right side. The panel shows:
- Competitor name, page URL, and page title
- Severity badge, field label, and detection date
- What Changed - a summary of the modification
- Removed (red section) - the previous value with the old snapshot date
- Added (green section) - the new value with the new snapshot date
- Current Page Context - the latest headline, meta description, CTA, and pricing for reference
- Strategic Analysis - AI-generated analysis explaining the significance of the change
- What This Means For You - actionable strategic implication
For list fields like features and benefits, the detail panel computes a diff showing added items in green and removed items in red with strikethrough formatting.
Dismissing Changes
Click Dismiss on any change to archive it. The card fades out immediately. Dismissed changes are excluded from all queries and summary stats. This helps you keep the change feed focused on actionable competitive intelligence.
Crawl Schedule
Landing pages are crawled daily at 5:00 AM Eastern for all active competitors. There is a 2-second delay between requests to avoid overloading competitor servers. An immediate crawl is also triggered when you first enable deep tracking on a competitor, so you do not need to wait until the next scheduled run.
Plan Requirements
Landing Page Change Tracking requires a Growth ($99/mo) or Business ($299/mo) plan. Starter plan users see an upgrade prompt with a preview of the feature's capabilities.
